Delivery & Returns
There are numerous factors that affect the cost. One to consider is how quickly do you need the bags? Our most cost effective option is to print your bags with our Economy Service in India, and this gives you the most flexibility with print and dye options. We also offer an Air Freight option with all Economy Service bags. The additional cost for this is on average £0.50 to £1.00 extra per bag, but this is dependent on the size and material. Our UK express service may not be the cheapest option but it does allow you to order a low minimum run with a fast turn around. We also offer the option to order a combination of our two services whereby you can order a low minimum run of Express Service bags and have the remainder of the order printed in India on our Economy Service.
Can I have a price list?
We don't have one. We are manufacturers and the infinite variations of style, material, print, dye and so on make this impossible. We are happy to give a prompt quote based on your requirements. Please don't hesitate to ask us.
Can you guarantee delivery for my event?
Yes, usually we can. But much depends on the exact nature of your requirements and of your graphics. Lead times start from your signed-off order or sample approval. If these take a long time then your order will be fulfilled later. Containerised shipping of goods across the world is very economical but is prone to delays. If your delivery is time critical, make sure you allow at least 15 weeks or alternatively consider using our Express Service. It's best to call us to discuss this in detail, but all lead times are approximates.
Are the bags Fairtrade?
There is no such thing as Fairtrade Jute or organic Jute because it is a rotational crop. However Jute is one of the most environmentally friendly materials to make bags from. 100% of the plant is used by the growers, no artificial irrigation is required and it’s a fast growing annual crop. Generally a farmer would get at least one rice, one vegetable and one Jute crop from the same piece of land each year.
Are the bags printed in the UK
This depends on the nature of your order. Some are, but we usually print in India. If you have time to do this and your order is 500 units or more, it's usually cheaper, and there are far more options to combine multi colored prints with dyed panels too.
Where do you make them?
All our Jute bags are made direct from our factory 40km outside Kolkata in West Bengal (that’s in North East India close to Bangladesh and on the Ganges Delta.) Our UK stock bags are overprinted by our specialist screen printer in the UK.
Are You Trade Suppliers?
Yes, all our customers receive competitive trade prices.
Do your bags have plastic linings?
All our Jute and Juco bags are laminated as standard using PP or Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE). These stiffen the bags and allow them to be wiped clean. LDPE biodegrades faster than PP but if you are looking for the most environmentally friendly option, we suggest requesting unlined Jute or Juco bags. But if some stiffness is required initially then a plant based starch can be used that will soften after the first few uses. Our Cotton bags however, are usually not lined. Upon request they can be on the inside or outside if a stiffer bag is required.
What's more environmentally friendly - Jute, Juco or Cotton?
Cotton requires substantial irrigation, pesticide and artificial fertilization, so we believe that Jute & Juco are a more environmentally friendly option. However, as the bags are all designed to be re-used over a long period of time, they are all far preferable to plastic and paper bags designed for single use.
Can you print a photo on a bag?
Yes, we now have direct to fabric digital print technology at our factory in India and this allows far more complex prints. Minimum orders are 250 bags and lead times are 12-14 weeks unless your budget allows for airfreight. Digital print would work on Jute but it is better suited to Juco and Cotton as the weave is finer and detail shows up better.
Do you charge for samples?
No, we love any opportunity to show off the quality of our product! However, we do charge if we have to sample a bag with your actual print or to your design. This is because there are costs involved in producing a speculative bag.
Can I inspect one printed bag before you start making the run?
Yes, although it’s not necessary and will add 14 days to the production process (and the lead time for your order). Before committing to an order, you will be asked to sign off on a computer-generated image of your bag. We then monitor this closely against the bags as they start to be produced, and would discuss any variation with you before the bags were manufactured. Our visuals tend to be an accurate representation of the final bag and we have very few issues.
