It’s probably really uncool to brag too much about the company you work for, but if you had any doubts about working for WBC, keep reading…
Last week’s company social saw our very good friends and long standing customer Chase Distillery visit the WBC Showroom for an evening of Vodka tasting and sampling of their world renowned potato vodka. Food was created by none other than south east London’s regular Chefonabike, Chef Mario Presi.
Brand Development Manager, Guy Ilot was on hand to talk us through the Chase story aka ‘Will’s Story: from field to bottle, how they grow it, mash it, ferment it, strip it and distill it, all from their very own full pedigree, gluten free, King Edward & Lady Claire potatoes.
Seriously; it’s an ingenious story worth reading about. And then there’s the taste…. one of the reason it’s been voted the World’s Best Vodka by prestigious San Francisco Spirits Competition. The world’s first super premium English potato vodka.
And we like these guys, not just because they feed us vodka (feel free to come again) but also because they’re a progressive, forward thinking example of a family business who in spite of increasing price pressures from supermarkets and multiples, found a creative way to adapt, change direction and ultimately find success within the market they know and loves. Lessons in there for all of us small businesses.
So do check them out and next time you see them on the shelf of your local – pick up a bottle and keep it local keep it British.
It’s worth pointing out that if you too would like to spend an evening sipping vodka and eating great food with other amazing people, come join our team! We’re always looking for fresh talent so visit our jobs page and send us your CV.
