De Beauvoir Deli’s “London hamper” in best of 2014

London-Hamper2Wicker’s back this Christmas, and back in a big way too. With just five weeks to go, we’re seeing social media, trade press and the papers lauding their ‘top 10 best of’ Christmas hampers, and once again proving the Great British love for traditional wicker hampers remains firmly at the top of Santa’s list. And still the independent is yet to release their annual top 10 best Christmas hampers, so keep an eye out for that – it usually drops in early December.

Big congrats to our friends at De Beauvoir Deli who’s Christmas ‘London Hamper’ is getting a whole lot of love in the press this week. Priced at £120, the London hamper is classically stylish, packed full of ‘on trend’ artisan foods and drink (from many of the producers we’ve come to love) and it comes perfectly wrapped in a blue printed ribbon, branded with their deli name and logo.

In terms of finishing touches alone it’s clever. Branding printed ribbon like this, is a cost-effective and efficient way of personalising your packaging year round. Not only does it strengthen your corporate identity, even if you’re smaller retailer, but of course, it screams luxury too so you’ll be able to charge a premium. We also really like the way De Beauvoir Deli has created specific themes for their hampers, then offered them at various price points. If you’re a bricks and mortar retailer, offering a variety of price points at Christmas will pay dividends in terms of taking advantage of impulse shopping this time of year – something for everyone!

Thumbs up De Beauvoir.

And for those still in the Christmas planning stages, we always try to keep plenty of stock of empty wicker baskets and hamper packaging delivered within 48 hours, but as it’s all the rage this time of year, get your orders in early, you can give give till the wickers gone.
